Pork with Balsam Pear

Feature: slightly bitter
Serves 1 to 2 and ready in 15-20 min

Ingredients

  • 100g pork
  • 400g balsam pear
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Szechuan hot bean sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation (10 min)

  • Cut balsam pear into halves widthwise
  • Remove seeds and cut to thin slices
  • Cut pork into think slices and marinate in soy sauce, cornstarch for 5 min

Instruction (5-10 min)

  • Heat vegetable oil until hot
  • Slide in pork and stir-fry until white
  • Remove and leave oil in wok
  • Reheat remaining oil and stir in balsam pear
  • Add pork, Szechuan hot bean sauce and stir-fry with high heat for a few seconds
  • Pour in 2 teaspoons water, soy sauce and sprinkle in salt
  • Cover tightly and simmer for 2 min
  • Place in a plate and serve
