 Braised Beef with Tomatoes

Serves 1 to 2 and ready in 40-45 min

Ingredients
- 250g beef
- 400g tomatoes
- 2 stalks spring onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 5 slices ginger
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Preparation (30 min)
- Slice beef and marinate in soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch for half
an hour
- Cut tomatoes into medium chunks
- Mince ginger, garlic and spring onion
- Mix 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch with water as sauce
Instruction (10-15 min)
- Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil until hot
- Slide in beef and fry until almost cooked
- Leave oil in wok, remove beef and drain
- Reheat oil and add ginger, garlic and tomatoes
- Stir-fry for 1 min
- Fill wok with water and mater sure water level is right below tomatoes
- Sprinkle in salt and sugar
- Return beef to wok and cook for a few minutes
- Pour in prepare cornstarch sauce
- Stir until well-combined and serve
