Braised Pork in Soy Sauce with Shiitake Mushroom

Braised Pork in Soy Sauce with Shiitake Mushroom

Serves 1 to 2 and ready in 65-75 min

Ingredients

  • 500g pork belly
  • 20g shiitake mushroom
  • 1 stalk spring onion
  • 5 slices of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine

 

Preparation (15 min)

  • Cut pork into 1-inch chunks
  • Cut shiitake mushroom into halves
  • Cut the spring onions into 4 or 5 sections

 

Instruction (50-60 min)

  • Place pork chunks, shiitake mushroom, ginger, and spring onion  in wok
  • Fill the wok with water and make sure  water level is a bit below the pork
  • Add sugar, soy sauce, rice wine, and cover
  • Heat the wok over high heat till boiling
  • Lower heat to simmer for 50 min or until meat is tender
